Alexander V. Vasilyev, Irina N. Melnikova. Short-wave solar radiation in the Earth atmosphere. Calculation. Observation. Interpretation – St. Petersburg, 2002.
The numerical (Monte-Carlo) and analytical (asymptotic formulas) methods of calculating solar radiance and irradiance in clear and cloudy atmosphere are described. The special features of preparation, accomplishment of radiation measurements and data processing are considered using the experience of many years radiative airborne experiments in Leningrad (now Sankt-Petersburg) state University under the guidance of Academician Kirill Ya. Kondratyev. The numerical and analytical methods of inverse problem solution are used for the interpretation of experimental data. Results of measurements and retrieval of spectral solar radiative characteristics and atmospheric optical parameters are presented in figures and tables. The book will be useful for specialists in geophysics, atmospheric optics, climatology, detection of backgrounds and contrasts in the atmosphere, radiation regimes of natural and artificial surfaces and for students educated in listed fields. |
